Water rate increase could go higher

First, it was the reduced demand for water that caused the Raleigh City Council to raise rates. Now the drop off in new growth may cause rates to go even higher. David Bracken of the N&O reported that towns like Wake Forest which merged their water systems with Raleigh’s aren’t able to meet their financial obligations and may have to tack more onto local bills.

The law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty while serving in Wake County were honored yesterday at a new memorial in downtown Raleigh. Among those were two officers from the Wake Forest Police Department.
