Brown Eggs Are Local Eggs, And Local Eggs Are Fresh

Brown Eggs Are Local Eggs, And Local Eggs Are Fresh

Some may remember the push last year to get the Board of Commissioners to allow chicken coops within the town limits. The move was successful (unless you live in development which prevents it) and now the reward is ours.

One Wake Forest resident has a bumper crop of brown eggs from his or her five hens and is offering one dozen for sale for $2. The person will even throw in free deliver within Wake Forest, according to this Craiglist post.

Sounds like a good deal to us. They’re going to be much better tasting than a dozen brown ones from any grocery store. A quick check today of brown egg prices put them at about $2 per dozen at both Harris Teeter and Walmart.
