Paws for Life 5K-9 and 1-Mile Dog Walk to Benefit Franklin County Humane Society

The Paws for Life 5K-9 and 1-mile dog walk is coming to Downtown Wake Forest on Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. The event is being held to benefit the Franklin County Humane Society.

The 5K run/walk starts at 10 a.m. and, the dog walk begins at 10:15 at the Wake Forest College Birthplace on North Main Street.

There will also be pet microchips available starting at 9 a.m. for $10 apiece.

A newly formed chat group for deaf people in the community has a pizza party scheduled for Oct. 16. The location is open to members of the group only on Meetup.com. It appears to be open to anyone who can sign as an opportunity to practice and learn. To become a member, visit the group’s Meetup site. Visitors will be required to sign in or register.
