–T.J. House tossed seven scoreless frames and the Carolina Mudcats shut out the Wilmington Blue Rocks 6-0 in front of 1,197 on Monday night at Five County Stadium.

House (1-0) fanned nine hitters, and allowed two hits and a walk in the outing. Cody Allen hurled the final two frames, striking out three.

Blue Rocks’ starter Greg Billo (0-1) allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings. He struck out five.

The left-hander was provided plenty of run support in the early innings. For the second straight day, Tyler Holt led off the first with a triple. Tony Wolters brought him home with a groundout for the 1-0 lead.

In the second, Dwight Childs launched a three-run homer that landed halfway up the 70-foot tall scoreboard in left field to give the Mudcats a four run advantage.

Carolina added to the lead in the sixth with two runs. A bases-loaded walk by Tyler Holt brought in the first, and Wolters drove in his second run of the night with a groundball.
